Accounts and Settings

Manage accounts, security, preferences, contacts, and trusted apps.

Accounts

Open Settings → Accounts to switch, add, rename, or remove an account. Accounts created from the same recovery phrase use consecutive derivation indexes.

The add-account flow can derive another account, import a recovery phrase or supported private key, or add a watch-only Solana address. Watch-only accounts are labeled in the account list and cannot authorize transactions.

Removing an account from Salmon does not remove it from the blockchain. You can derive it again from the same recovery phrase and index. Verify your backup before removing an account.

Backup and private-key export

Backup and private-key screens require authentication. Treat exported material like the recovery phrase: anyone who obtains it can control the corresponding account.

The recovery phrase can restore its derived accounts when the same derivation paths and indexes are scanned. An exported private key normally controls only one chain account.

Security

Use the Security panel to change the wallet password. Mobile can also enable biometric unlock when supported by the device.

A password change re-encrypts the local vault. It does not alter blockchain keys or invalidate the recovery phrase.

Preferences

You can configure:

  • Language: English or Spanish.
  • Display currency.
  • Light, dark, or system appearance.
  • Preferred blockchain explorer.
  • Developer networks.
  • Anonymous analytics consent.

Display-currency values are estimates based on third-party market data. They do not change the underlying on-chain balance.

Developer settings can also show unverified assets. Treat unknown tokens and collectibles as untrusted: do not follow links or sign requests merely because an asset appeared in the wallet.

Address book

Save frequently used destinations with a recognizable name. Contacts are a convenience, not an authorization list. Always verify the resolved address during transaction review.

Trusted apps

The extension records dApp origins you have approved. Remove an origin to prevent trusted silent reconnection. Revocation does not reverse previous signatures or on-chain activity.
